Dr. Nelson Towle

Dr. Nelson Towle received his Ph.D. from Florida State University in Educational Research and Development. He has had extensive experience in Florida public schools including Director of Instruction for Sarasota County Schools. He has conducted numerous research and evaluation studies including studies of technology in public schools for five states. Dr. Towle has classroom teaching experience and administrative experience as an assistant principal and principal. He has assisted ESDI in conducting studies of the Florida Extended School Year Program, South Carolina Comprehensive School Demonstration Grants, Florida Reading Excellence Act implementation, and the evaluation of the FLaRE Center at the University of Central Florida. He also assisted in planning and establishing simultaneously two schools for adjudicated youth, each serving 300 students in an incarcerated setting.
